goodbye summer (part 2)

It's my last day at the job I have had for 8 years. 8 years. Sigh. Thinking of that much time passing in this particular place is daunting. My entire 30's have been spent here, with lots of life events, ups and downs, and office silliness. I mean that in the positive AND negative sense. I have said for years that I was going to publish a newspaper about the goings-on here called "The Daily Stupidity." Trust me, it never would have lacked for content.

Even though I know I'm doing the right thing for me, I do feel anxious about change. The feelings are somewhat reminiscent of when I left my Orlando firm. I knew I wanted to be back in NE (and not in Florida), but I had met some terrific people there. Likewise, I have met some great clients and fellow lawyers who have become friends during my Providence tenure. To name a few:

Rebecca (associate at this firm)

Alicia and Claudine (work for a client)

Neal (works at another law firm)

Lakshmi (who's moved out of state)

Isabel (recent acquaintance thanks to Neal)

M'Liss (works at a title company we often work with)

All of these folks are funny, kind, supportive and trusted friends. I know they'll be in my life well into the future. That alone makes the past 8 years worthwhile. Thanks, guys.
