run that by me again

I have a confession to make, even though many of you already know this: I am a "repeat" button addict. I get hooked on a song for a while, and I want to listen to it over and over. During my life I have amused and annoyed at least several people with my habit.

Right now, the two songs I am listening to the most are "(Reach Up for the) Sunrise" by Duran Duran and "Home" by Michael Buble. Fortunately for the rest of the world, I am generally in my car alone to or from work so no one else is affected lately. I decided to add a "repeat button" element to my blog above the archive of prior posts, showing what songs (if any) are in fashion for me at the moment.

The person who has listened to songs on repeat with me the most is Ellen. As luck would have it, we would both be happy to listen to a certain song incessantly. The ones that jump to mind are (ok this goes back a few years) "Be My Lover" by La Bouche and "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" by Dead or Alive. The fact that "You Spin Me Round" is sung in the opening scene of The Wedding Singer just added to how much we liked the movie.

Once when Ellen and I were in the car with John, she kept hitting repeat on "Be My Lover." I guess she timed it very well, since during the third or fourth time the song played, John asked Ellen, "How long is this song, anyway?"
