I know some of you out there watch The Soup besides me. It used to be called "Talk Soup" a few years ago when it just picked on talk shows like Montel (who I like, btw) and Jerry Springer. Once tabloid TV shows like "Inside Edition" popped up everywhere and the reality-TV phenomenon hit, Talk Soup started making fun of those shows, too. Hence, "The Soup" became a more fitting and inclusive title. Two commercials in recent episodes of The Soup had me laughing out loud. One is an actual ad for a (presumably small, local) insurance agency. The other is a phony commercial for a hair salon inspired by Sanjaya. When you watch both of them, it's hard to believe one is legitimate. The "real" commercial is so nonsensical and has such terrible special effects that it seems like a spoof. Someone please tell me how a male eagle lays an egg!
I hope you get a laugh, or at least a smile, from these, too:
Hair Salon Commercial
Auto Insurance Commercial
ps amazingly, the hair salon commercial was created before the abominable display this week on American Idol
